Position Overview
The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is seeking a Project Scheduler to develop and maintain schedules, review contractor submissions, and ensure accurate progress reporting.
Position Description
Develop and maintain program schedules with defined logic, milestones, and constraints
Interpret and review detailed construction drawings to determine work scope
Review contractor baseline schedule submissions; verify sequencing and scope coverage; provide written comments
Perform QA/QC on contractor schedules for critical path, cost/resource loading, recovery schedules, logic relationships, and milestones
Conduct Time Impact Analyses (TIAs) for change orders and negotiate time settlements
Determine the compensability of schedule extensions based on drawings/contracts
Perform Critical Path and Earned Value analyses
Conduct site walks and verify progress; prepare reports for OARs and management
Communicate progress with contractors in status meetings
Perform Program Schedule QA/QC reviews regularly
Update program/master schedules bi-monthly
Maintain proper use of program coding and layouts
Serve as liaison between project teams, leadership, and Program Controls
Prepare reports as needed
Minimum Required Qualifications
Must be clearly demonstrated on resume to be considered.
5 years of full-time paid professional experience in construction scheduling for an Owner or General Contractor
Experience with educational facilities or public works projects preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
OR bachelor’s degree in any field plus 2 additional years of construction scheduling experience
Proficiency in Primavera (latest version) and MS Office Suite
Strong written/verbal communication, organizational, and planning skills
Ability to build strong relationships with teams
Understanding of cost engineering, scheduling, and schedule forensics
