Position Overview
The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is seeking an Owner’s Authorized Representative II (OAR II) to manage large-scale projects through all phases of construction.
Position Description
Oversee all facets of assigned projects from design through close-out
Review design documents and coordinate comments with project teams
Prepare project status and progress reports for management
Coordinate with agencies and District staff for compliance on off-site work
Manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring monthly updates reflect current progress
Direct contractor activities, review schedules/submittals, and process RFIs/RFCs
Review contractor substitutions for compliance
Negotiate change orders and review schedule impacts
Monitor contractor, architect, and engineer payments
Administer Architect agreements
Coordinate FF&E delivery
Manage project close-out including DSA certification and financial close-out
Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications
Must be clearly demonstrated on resume to be considered.
15 years of full-time paid professional experience in construction and/or project/construction management of commercial or public/educational facility projects
5 of the 15 years must include responsibility for coordinating complex projects with values greater than $20M
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
OR bachelor’s degree in any field with ability to complete CCM credential within one year of employment
OR more than 20 years of construction/project management experience with ability to complete CCM credential within one year
OR possession of a valid CCM credential in lieu of degree
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Design Build, BIM, LEED, CHPS, and DSA
OSHA 30 minimum
Licensure as a California Architect or Professional Engineer
CCM credential
