Position Overview
Duration: 6 – 12 months
We are seeking an Office of Public School Construction (OPSC) Coordinator (California State Grants Specialist) to provide expert guidance and support on California state funding programs. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of direct experience with school facility funding and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at managing the entire grant lifecycle—from eligibility and application through reporting and audit support.
Position Duties
- Research and interpret California State regulations related to school facility funding programs.
- Identify and evaluate available funding opportunities.
- Prepare and submit accurate grant applications and all related documentation.
- Support or prepare expense reports for auditors.
- Collaborate with internal teams, attorneys, CPAs, and state administrative agencies.
- Maintain organized records of all grant-related materials.
- Work with IT staff to define data requirements and support grant tracking systems.
- Communicate effectively across departments to ensure compliance with state guidelines.
- Apply knowledge of eligibility establishment and update requirements.
- Analyze funding and regulatory issues; recommend solutions.
Minimum Required Qualifications
(must be clearly demonstrated on resume to be considered)
- 5+ years of experience with California state funding programs.
- Strong knowledge of public school facility program regulations and public construction requirements.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with coding concepts and database structures.
- Proficiency in Excel and spreadsheet development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with OPSC and California Department of Education (CDE) online systems.
- Background in financial or project management systems.
